BRIMET, a subsidiary of the China Academy of Machinery Science and Technology (CAM) - a large technology group under direct administration of SASAC - was established in 1956. As a leading research institution in China, we specialize in R&D and technology transfer related to forging & stamping, heat treatment, and die & mold. Additionally, BRIMET is classified as one of the national high-tech enterprises and is a key beneficiary of the State Torch Plan.Patent demonstration units in Beijing and open laboratories of Zhongguancun Science Park.

Some national and industrial technology innovation platforms, including the "National Engineering Research Center for Net Shape Manufacturing", the "Beijing Engineering Research Center for Clean Heat Treatment", the "Machinery Industry Engineering Laboratory for Near-net-shape Plastic Forming", and the "Machinery Industry Engineering Technology Research Center of Die and Mold for Auto Parts" are established in BRIMET. BRIMET also serves as the technology centralized institution in China for forging & stamping, heat treatment, and die & mold. The China Society for Technology of Plasticity (CMES), the National Forging and Stamping Standardization Technology Committee, the Chinese Heat Treatment Society, the National Heat Treatment Standardization Technology Committee, the China Heat Treatment Association, and the China Die and Mold Industry Association are affiliated with the Institute.
